Cantine Dragani started their business way back in 1812. In that year, the burgomaster of Caldari at that time signed a document that authorized Dragani Emanuele to sell his products in the territory covered by that Commune. Even then, the Dragani family were owners of their most famous estates, such as, Selva de Canonici and Fonte Melata. It is likely that the two landholdings were rented from the monks of the convent in Frisa, who owned the neighboring territories at that time. As the years rolled by, the two estates became the Dragani family's natural habitat, that is to say where the family made the wine for its own consumption. Naturally, farming methods have gradually evolved over the years and nowadays they are considered the best available.
